Milano Home meets Vanni Volponi, CEO of L'Oca Nera
What are the new products you will be presenting at the next edition of Milano Home, their characteristics, the values that distinguish them, and is there a flagship product or collection?
At the next edition of Milano Home, we will present many new products that will have a significant impact on our entire assortment. For several years now, our assortment has been divided into "Worlds" (Fashion, Ethno Chic, Modern Country, Urban, Contemporary, and Mediterranean), and in January, all our "Worlds" will be renewed, with the introduction of new products, new trends, and new, unprecedented effects. Despite such a wide range and the different "Worlds" that characterize our assortment, all the items are characterized by the style dictated by our payoff "Living in Elegance" and I think that it is precisely this coherence that is the main characteristic of our company.
How did your company start and what are your strengths?
L'Oca Nera was founded 34 years ago, in 1990. Over the years, the assortment has transformed and evolved, but always maintaining an elegant and sophisticated style and image. Since 1990, L'Oca Nera has offered collections focused on attention to refined detail, handcrafted with passion, where art meets design to create atmospheres of great charm. A cosmopolitan spirit, always up-to-date and constantly evolving. It interprets contemporary forms of objects and micro-architectural furnishings that personalize the home with discreet and measured luxury, capable of reflecting the lifestyle of those who inhabit it. In parallel with our Home proposal, since 2023 L'Oca Nera has started a new important and ambitious project with the "Dettagli" catalog, which will be enriched every year with new and exclusive products, born from the study and collaboration with Italian artists and designers, thus offering our customers a wide range of products, mostly "Made in Italy".
What is your relationship with shops or e-commerce, how important are they and what is the added value for the retailer of having your brand in their store?
Shops and retailers are at the center of all our commercial policies, we serve more than 800 stores throughout Italy and with many of them, we have had collaborative relationships for decades. Putting the physical store at the center of our objectives means establishing a relationship of trust with the retailer, working transparently, and protecting the retailer's work through clear commercial policies. E-commerce is certainly an interesting sector, rapidly developing and strategic for any company in the future, but it must be managed in the right way, without getting carried away or being attracted by potential easy sales. The correctness that distinguishes our company requires us to manage our e-commerce site with prices and offers in line with stores, guaranteeing price stability and a consistent offer throughout Italy.
What are the trends in modern living for the coming year?
L'Oca Nera for 2025 will propose various trends that best express the contemporary way of living and inhabiting. Each of our "Worlds" expresses different characteristics and is aimed at different types of consumers, but all have in common elegance and the desire to personalize the home with discreet and measured luxury. Let's start from the assumption that "less is more" and that this can be translated into having clean, linear products, but at the same time of high perceived value, sometimes it is better to have one less object, but one that fully reflects one's personality. Simple, soft shapes and colors in harmony with each other have guided us in the selection of new items, this will be the mood of the new "World" 2025, but we can't reveal anything more, you have to wait for the next edition of Milano Home.
