New Scenarios in Interior Design

POLI.design presents at Milano Home Interior and Product Design projects that narrate the contemporaneity of design, innovative materials, and sustainable design.

Join us on Saturday, January 24th from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Elements Arena in Pavilion 2

During MILANO HOME, POLI.design organizes two open Design Talks focused on Design, sustainability, innovative materials, and new contemporary design scenarios, involving young Architects, Interior Designers, and industry professionals actively working in the Italian Design System, selected through an Open Call.

These meetings aim to define the scenario of Interior Design, with reference to the themes discussed within MILANO HOME, with contributions from professionals, industry experts, and companies in close contact with designers and their work.

In the two meetings, each lasting two hours, Interior and Product Design projects are presented in the main types of spaces and application areas.

The main Topics

We will discuss how architects and designers are called upon to experiment with new solutions and introduce innovative materials and choices or to use traditional materials in alternative ways. All this to respond to the needs of sustainability and socio-political and climate change, and to the main transformations and changes underway in the use of spaces, with reference to the different activities and services.

Speakers selection

Speakers selection, focusing on young Architects, Interior and Product Designers, will be carried out by a Scientific Committee specifically established by POLI.design, chaired by Prof. Francesco Scullica (Scientific Direction and Content), Architect, PhD in Interior Design and Architecture, Full Professor of Industrial Design at the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano, Scientific Director of the Master in Interior Design at Politecnico di Milano and POLI.design reference for Interior Design training programs at national and international level, and coordinated by Arch. Fabio Daglio (Scientific Content), Architect, Interior and Exhibit Designer, Londonart Show-room Manager, POLI.design Consultant on Retail Design, Exhibit Design and in the field of new materials and finishes for Interior Design.

In their selection, they will prioritize profiles of designers under 40, but not exclusively. Architects, Interior and Product Designers who are actively working in the Italian Design System and who are able to demonstrate, even through one of their projects/products, how the new generations of professionals do not need to force themselves to think in terms of sustainability and alternative strategies, but that this way of designing is now part of their DNA and drives them to experiment and be curious in searching for new brands inclined to respect the environment, through innovative production processes. Greater space will be given to designers who have worked/are working on projects that involve the use of innovative materials for the creation of new furnishings/objects/fabrics/accessories, new shapes, new textures, for Interior Design and Product Design in a broad spectrum, but also for tableware.
